Review by hotel critic
A Practical Haven for Business Travelers at the FitzwilliamDuring my recent corporate retreat at the Fitzwilliam, I found the hotel to be appropriately equipped for business needs. The meeting room facilitated productive discussions, and the free Wi-Fi in public areas was reliable, enabling seamless video calls and quick access to important materials. The bar/lounge area presents a comfortable spot for informal meetings or unwinding after a long day. My experience with the restaurant, however, was underwhelming, particularly during breakfast service, where the wait staff lacked attentiveness and the food did not meet expectations. Serving items like poached eggs that were hardly cooked creates a challenge for those seeking to start their day on a positive note. Nevertheless, I appreciated the efficient early check-in and the overall friendliness of the staff, particularly a standout receptionist. The proximity to local shops was convenient for quick meals and resources. The Fitzwilliam serves as a suitable backdrop for business travelers, with room for improvement in dining.
